I see the problem…..

November 29, 2006

Totally irrelevent title but couldn’t think of anything else, it’s been one of those weeks…again. One of those weeks where you feel like you have accomplished nothing yet have been so busy that you havn’t had five minutes spare to write your blog.

Let me think…. what have I done this week, child one is now the proud owner of a learner driving licence, ‘no, i dont want to go for a drive tonight, thanks mum’. (Yes, in this house we still go throught the Cant v’s Wont convos) which reminds me, I must check my insurance….LOL. Child two now has 1.2 days of year 10 to go…….yes he is counting the days, hours and minutes……Friday is just a BBQ for all the year 10’s……He asked if he could just pick up a sausage next year when he goes back…..ewwwww. Poor old child number threeis thinking it is dreadfully unfair that grade two kids have to stay at school for another two weeks…….lots of stirring from child two. Child number two’s uniform shirt should hold out for the said 1.2 days left of this year……but it will be a close call I reckon…. it might just fall apart on the train ride home. All the kids must wear formal uniform for senior years, but this shirt will most definatly not be going….P.S. He likes the darn shirt.

Kitten is doing fine, still alive which is a positive thing. She is growing very fast I must add and is pretty much making herself at home here. Maddy (the kitten) is s**t scared of the storm we are having at the moment.

Oh, my week, just need to show up at Tafe on Friday with an interesting Ice-breaker, still thinking about that one, our group of students has dwindled down to a regular attendance of about nine. Then off to the pub for lunch at the toughest, roughest most news worthy hotel around, not sure if I will go as yet, might stay home and change the oil in the Commodore, or maybe extract some teeth, although that might be more easily done at said pub. Havn’t really got anything organised for Christmas yet, I have one thing on lay-by, but thats as far as I have got…..oh well, there is still a few weeks yet. I told someone at Tafe that I will probably sit at home with a beer and some prawns….sounds good to me.

Oh great, CSI is on AGAIN, better go to bed and fall asleep watching it.

G’nite all.

Yay, yet another day.

November 19, 2006

Isn’t it great to wake in the morning… see the sun shining, say goodmorning to your children, listen to the early news on the radio, eat a late breakfast of bacon and egg, walk through the morning dew as you leisurly hang the washing out on a sunday morning.

Now that crap is out of the way, back to my normal way of thinking.

Well, its another Sunday, great, washing, dishes, cleaning, uniforms to get prepared for Monday morning. The usual stuff for a Sunday in this house, Mum can you drop me and my friends at the cinema oh and can I have $20. Mum, I dont want to go to the BBQ with the family friends today thanks, but can you pick me up later. Sigh… see normal life…. Wouldn’t change it for the world I guess, it’s great having three healthy children.

Thank god, school is over for one child, two more weeks of school for one child and four more weeks for youngest child…. can’t wait for holidays either, i need a rest too. Tafe finishes on the 1st of December to great relief I might add. Better get a start on stuff for next year though. Some interesting things coming up next semester. Role model research, probably more communication stuff, etc, etc.

I can’t remember the time I finished school, I got a job so I could leave. But, some of the kids that have finished this year (including my own) havn’t really made anydecisions for what happens now. I asked one boy, he said well I could go and work i guess. Hmmm, My child is gravitating to further study, arts maybe, there are some kids who are just not ready to enter the workforce, there will be many career students (one of my classmates at Tafe is a career student, never worked, he is 43) and hopefully some will take up the opportunities the new state training initiatives provide. I am sure that for every ex-student who knows where they are headed there are another two who don’t. There is so much on offer, is that hampering their selections? Gee, I know of some people who are still deciding to which direction they are going.

Going now to enjoy my lazy Sunday, oh damn, a neighbour has just started a lawn mower.

What, another Friday….

November 17, 2006

Oh, at last. Again it is my favorite day of the week, where I sit and reflect issues we have experienced through the week. Not that there is often much to dwell on, but it’s nice to relax after the week.

Child number one has now offically concluded her secondary education. YAY. No, no schoolies for her. Too dangerous and way too expensive. Damn straight.

Have been doing heaps of work for Diploma, all seem to be due at the same time…. got one more to do then a 10 minute talk….. again.

Too darn tired…. will blog tomorrow.

Still bloody Sunday.

November 12, 2006

Thought I would write another post as I am a bit pissed off. Brother heading down to Nanna’s town ready for funeral on Tuesday. I am not pissed about that, we are all glad that he is in a position to attend. I am annoyed that I myself am not going. Kid number one is attending year 12 graduation formal (which parents are not to attend) on said Tuesday. Parents are invited (oh we pay dont worry about that) to attend pre-dinner drinks at the school with their year 12 student at 4.30pm, then watch them all leave the school by whichever means of transport their parents can afford. Now I am happy to attend the above mentioned function, it’s just that a) I am feeling unappreciated as a parent, and b) I feel that we should all be attending Nanna’s funeral. I am sad about that.

That’s it… it’s off my chest now.

Not Sunday again.

November 11, 2006

Now it’s Sunday again, and you know how much I dont like Sundays. Boring day, have to get all that washing done, house cleaned and kids entertained. Going for a walk later, through whats left of the bushland around our local streets. That should keep up busy for a bit, while the washing dries.

Father and his partner are just about to enter Chile, they are on a huge adventure, they have been gone for about three weeks now, and looks like they wont be home for about another three weeks. They are loving it. Missing them but its nice to read their email updates on what they have been doing and the places they visit.

Wonderful brother is attending the funeral of our Nanna this week. Its a pity that we cant all go and make an appearance but thankfully brother will be there, he has written a piece to be read, and will do it well. Thanks brother. Will be great for him to see all the G family and friends. Contact with family must be fun. Nice to see people grow.

Back to my boring day. bored, bored, bored. I have been doing homework for the past two days, it’s still boring tho, losing interest. But sure that will pick up again soon.

Almost Christmas, again, we havn’t worked anything out as yet, would really like a trip up north at some stage. I think I will just have a beer and some prawns and just stay home.

Tired.
