$33m, that’s a heap of money

December 30, 2006

But sadly the lotto ticket that we got as a Christmas gift was not the winning ticket, actually to be truthful we didn’t even get one number on it… The odds of successfully getting no numbers correct in a draw are way better than getting all of the numbers correct, so ummmm does that mean great…. NO it doesn’t. Anyway, see that’s why I don’t buy lotto tickets cause it’s a waste of $10…. or whatever a ticket costs these days.

While Brother Joe is here, he has been very busy in the garden, I should have said we but he has assisted helpfully, we have been pulling out plants and have put some in pots and getting others ready to go in front garden when someone has got that ready. I am thinking that will be me getting it ready, but over the next few weeks, need to source some dirt and rocks. Thankfully the back garden had been made by topsoil not from around here so it was fairly easy to dig up, unfortunatly the same can not be said about the front yard so that will take some time.

The trampoline has been the best addition to the family, it is loved by all, hugged daily and thought about when we are out. *lol*

On Friday, I dragged poor Brother Joe and my male children out to Bunnings, normally a great trip, but Brother Joe had a headache, son number one had just had his tounge peirced and son number two was still suffering from having to walk around a major shopping centre the day before. We got some pots, a shovel and a pitchfork, all essential items for the following day of promised gardening. So today, you could imagine the shock we got when using the pitchfork for the 8th time (poking it in the ground) it broke. Needless to say we took said useless tool back to Bunnings, got a refund, said we would just use the shovel as it was still in one piece and collected some more potting mix.

Checkout girl at Kmart scanned our 5 new large pots as one (woohoo) … then got 20% discount so got the pots, two bags of potting mix and some stickers for child three (enticement to come close to a shopping centre again) all for $20. Very happy indeed. Not quite as arsy as walking off with two dvd’s and forgeting to pay for them….. No Mum, I didn’t do that…….LOL

Looking forward to celebrating New Years Eve at Brother’s house tomorrow night, he has told us about the new toy he has ……. Yay Galaga. It will be nice to have us all in one spot at the one time again. Have to remember camera…. TY to SIL…….K. We have been having fun with the camera and have finally worked out how to get them on the computer. Yay for instruction books.

Oh no, the time has come…..

December 29, 2006

Yes, sad but true……. we need to go shopping, this is normally an exciting outing, but as it is rather busy at all the centres that we have driven past I for one am not really looking forward to doing any shopping. I think I have a headache already.

One of child twos Christmas gifts was a peircing voucher, so after much discussion he has decided on the tounge peircing…..hmmmmm we’ll see if we come home with one.

Child one now also wants another hole in her face… great. Not too many spots left so not sure where she will get this one… oh she is paying for it herself. Oh and I may get my eyebrow done again. See how much of a headache I get trying to find a parking spot.

Wednesday morning……early….yawn

December 27, 2006

Wow, so now Christmas 2006 is now over with. There are many things that all the children are playing with, be it Lego, Nokia or Action (tramp), we now also have constant background strumming from child number two. We had a great Christmas day, lounging around at home, a quick trip to the airport, and then some more lounging around, we got around to having some lunch (ham included) at around 4pm. We poked some cutlery at dinner at about 8ish then all were in bed asleep by 10.30 (exhausted).

Boxing day was our big day, we had family members over for the day, more gifts were exchanged and a fun day was had by all, we played some cards and laughed, drank and ate ham. We ate lots of ham …. too much ….

Sadly we have an awful lot of ham left over. Child number one and myself have had enough ham to last us until Christmas 2007, child number three didn’t like any of the ham so it is now upto child number two to do his best and get through what is left. P.S. Should we get any visitors over the next two weeks they can be sure that they will get a ham sandwich at whatever time of day they visit. If they pass up on the offer of anything with ham in it they may prefer to eat a couple of rum balls… please.

About five weeks ago I collected a F100 truck locally for a friend in Melbourne, it has sat out the front of the house since then, I had been starting it up every few days and even moved it a couple of metres, just to make sure it remained in peak condition for when the owners arrived to collect it. Well, that time was now, I had another quick run out to the airport tonight, due in at 11.40pm, the plane was late, very late, so we (me, brother Joe and the friend we collected) arrived back home at 1am. Anyway, the truck has now been picked up so the front yard now looks much like a front yard instead of a car lot. Now that he has gone (friend and truck), I am kicking myself as I didn’t send him on his way with many many ham sandwiches for his journey. Darn.

It is now 2.10am Wed 27th Dec, no-one is on MSN so I am going to bed.

What ham?

December 23, 2006

Ham, oh great, we will be eating ham for the next two weeks. We now have about eight kilo of ham in the fridge… we thought about starting one of them tonight… but then thought again, cause the sooner we start one the sooner we will be sick of ham. Luckily there is lots of things you can do with ham. Might have to start with ham on toast for Christmas breakfast, followed by ham and biscuits for morning tea, a nice ham and salad sandwich for lunch, an apple (segmented and wrapped in a thin slice of ham) for arvo tea, then how about baked ham with pineapple, salad and potato bake for dinner. I am now sick of typing the word ham… ham ham ham ham.

Ran into a lovely lady while we were at the supermarket today, she was assisting an elderly gentleman in the loos, well out the door of the loo, this didnt make her a lovely lady of course, but she asked my to just keep an eye on him while she helped another elderly lady in the loo…….. this we did, naturally. When she finally came out from the toilets, she said thankyou and I asked her if she was on her own…. which she was, so we helped them out to their van, waved goodbye then thought, wow, how did she manage by herself. Thank goodness for carers…… bless them and hope they enjoy their christmas day. Smile and wave, you never know when you are going to brighten up someones day.

Have been very busy with ‘Fish tycoon’ at the moment… nice little game on yahoo. I have to fight (negotiate) with child three sometimes so I can play. We only found this game the other day, we are slowly working it out, have finally managed to get two of the special breeds of fish so far.

Gotta go, need ‘fish tycoon’ fix. Oh and had better cook dinner.

Where’s my chocolate?

December 22, 2006

Well, it seems that I missed out on the chocolate, that’s fine, I probably don’t really need it anyway, but it looked so good.

For those people whom are interested in the sound effects of Christmas in this house, you will be pleased to learn that the boing boing, the strum strum and the brinnnng brinnnng’s have now finally made their way into the house. Added to this is a new sound, not thought of previously, hmmmm, no that wasn’t it but I cant really provide you with a sound for this one……… starts with H though, maybe slightly whistle like… that’ll do.

Very excited about the boing boing, I am sure that the only child in the house who doesn’t know of it’s arrival will be very excited about it too.

When we collected this item, they couldn’t find the original reciept…. not unheard of at BigW, so they actually gave me one that belonged to someone else, which I am pretty sure happened to mine. On the box it says that it weighs 52kg, Pigs bum, it took three of the guys to put it up on the Commodore (lucky we checked the tyres prior) and myself and child two managed to get it to fall (sorta) in the hiding spot selected. So, highly suspect fifth disc to start complaining in the morning.

Still need to shop for a couple of kids for Christmas, had better get onto that tomorrow, shop for fresh salad and prawns on Sat, then we are done.

A friend of ours called in tonight with a 5kg ham, which was great, now we have two hams to get through over the holidays. The ham that I forgot to take out of the freezer today will remain in there for a while longer now, maybe we can have a New Years Eve ham.
