BIG BROTHER 2007

April 21, 2007

Oh, yes, get your couches ready, side tables close to the couch, laden table with favorite objects (eg beer, snacks and smokes?) to make sure there is no need to remove your butt from the seat (except to the computer) on second thoughts, move computer into lounge area, nice and handy, allow 12 weeks for sitting in this position.

All ready then, cause guess what… BB07 starts tonight, thats right, pre recorded tonight, played on Sunday night TV, as a live show… huh…

Anyway, glue your butt to any seat available, tonight it had better be the computer chair, cause its about to start…….

Anyone wh wants to get a sneak look….

By the Way…..

April 19, 2007

Have you ever noticed that “Twinkle, twinkle Little Star” is sung to the same rhythm as “A B C” Now that I have you all humming to yourselves, I will leave you with that random thought of randomness. LOL

Sheeeesh, I am having a boring day.

Happy Birthday To ‘Scoop’

April 19, 2007

Oh, yes, another year older, three years wiser and and and another year older. Couldn’t think of anything else.

“Happy Birthday to You,

Happy Birthday to You,

Happy Birthday dear Brother Scoop,

Happy Birthday to you”

That’s enough singing for today.

Today in History

1967 – Beatles sign a contract to stay together for 10 years

1971 – Sierra Leone becomes a republic

1971 – Charles Manson sentenced to ‘Life’

1972 – The US perform nuclear testing at Nevada Test Site

1975 – John Lennon released “Stand By Me”

1975 – Alice Cooper’s first TV special “Welcome to my Nightmare”

1977 – Alex Haley receives special Pulitzer Prize for “Roots”

*** It appears that History Today has skipped the 1980’s, that’s probably a good thing, it’s just full of ‘bad music’ anyway to nothing to report for this time period.***

1993- In Waco, Texas, the 51 day standoff between the Branch-Davidian cult and US federal agents ends today when the compound is burnt to the ground killing 86 people.

1994 – Rodney King awarded compensation of $3.8 M (police beating)

1995 – Federal building in Oklahoma City, OK, was destroyed by a bomb, 168 people were killed.

Well, it’s not ALL bad news, Scoop was born this day too.

Cheers.

Floor Pan ahoy……

April 17, 2007

Finally, at long last, the floor pan is ready, but only one of them, the drive side is ready to be collected. I will pick it up tomorrow. YAY. I will grab it now even though the other one is not there (passenger side) as these items seem to be very popular. Hmmm.

My arm has healed very well indeed and a little unhappy as even though it swelled up nicely, there is still no sign of bruising. Doctor gave me the week off, which is nice, as the arm does have a few movement issues, so now having a boring week. I do have a Tafe paper due on the 27th so I may even get that done, and heaps more sanding.

All kids had their first day back at Tafe and school, and were pretty happy to go, so the homework starts again now….ewwww.

Got printer cartridges filled up today, paid $48- to have three of them filled, saved about $30 by filling them instead of buying new ones. I guess thats worth it in the long run.

The kids have fitted back into their lazy after school routine, drop bags, turn on Xbox or TV and lounge around, afternoon teas etc etc. Leaves me with time to attack computer and blog unnecessarily.

Need to go round to Ex-friends home and throw one of her plates in the general direction of her house. No, I do not wish to talk to her. sigh.

Well, that hurt……..

April 15, 2007

Had a lovely day today, brother Scoop, SIL…K and their children, A and S, came over this afternoon, we all relaxed, ate a late lunch, so I figured that while they were here, Icould get some much needed assistance to remove bonnet from Kingswood.

Excellent idea, for about 15 minutes, until I noticed that with the last turn of the bolt holding hinge to bonnet, the hinge in a kind of round about way finally showed some protest and securely clamped onto my arm, which hurt for about 3 seconds then went numb (I love pain response). This was not a very nice clamp onto my arm it was more like a clamp INTO my arm, you know the soft delicate part between the wrist and the elbow, it actually pinched an area of about 5cm into its very very tight grip.

I had better mention here that not three minutes prior to this event I had said, Geeez hope I dont catch my hand in the hinge on the way out…….

After the release of that final bolt, I calmly mentioned or asked Brother Scoop if he would come around this (my) side of the car and hold the bonnet so I could remove my arm, reply was to the best of my knowledge, Oh Shit.

That was not the end of the amazing event….. no way, then it came time to release my arm from its grip, easy I hear you say, NOT, myself limited to the use of one arm (obviously) and the yelling (not by me) to attract the attention of my child two, to add an extra pair of hands to the rescue mission, therefore now we had three and a half people to assist. SIL……K remained holding aloft the bonnet (thankgod, didnt need any more weight on it at the time), Brother Scoop plans well under pressure and offered several possibilities, to which the last one was effective (always, cause you dont keep trying after success) and we tried them all, I think I needed to say OUCH at least twice during the entire ordeal, and then again when I finally got to have a look at the damage.

Unimpressed really, no blood, no everlasting scar, no exciting story to tell (apart from what was just told), lucked out on calling the Fire rescue team (damn it). Impressed with reaction of Brother Scoop, SIL….K and child two, glad no-one (including myself) fainted. Thanks guys for being there, sorry I had to get my arm caught in the stupid hinge, but thanks for the cake.
