Hmmmmm, nice.
Anyway, back to reality.
It has been a nice quiet weekend, thankfully, I like quiet days. Havn’t been doing very much the past couple of days, just the normal stuff like wash the dishes, make beds and cook something at mealtimes, clean out the car, deliver children to various locations then find my way back to the quiet home again. P.S. When a kid says ‘yeah i know where it is’, they probably don’t, or they forget while you are deciding which lane of the expressway you should be in. I momentarily closed my eyes and selected the centre lane (just like I do when travelling through Sydney), thankfully I arrived home eventually.
Items left in the backyard and destroyed by Gary: Bowls, cups, mugs, can of fly spray, spiderman figurine x 2, a tonka truck (I thought they were indestructible), a five foot palm tree, about a thousand passion-fruit, a vacuum cleaner, broom, Gary’s bed, food bowl and water dishes, MY FAVORITE BOOTS, bicycle helmet, bike tyre pump and four bags of potting mix. The list grows everyday but I will leave it at that.
I still havn’t finished the last Harry Potter book, I will get there one of these days.
I had some success with the lawn mower last weekend, I got a can of ‘quick start’ and managed to mow at least half of the back yard before blowing up the mower, that was a good day, then sorta finished off the back yard with the usual device… the whipper-sniper. Not doing the front lawn as yet, it’s only the weeds in the grass that are growing at the moment.
Everyone here is in fine health, except child one who decided to injure her hand and require four stitches, she said it didn’t hurt until someone else noticed she was bleeding at an alarming rate, and she hasn’t stopped whinging about it yet.
Went to the movies during the week, saw Underdog and Evan Almighty, both of which were very good films and quite funny. We still havn’t seen Hairspray.
Another week of not knowing if I have a perm job yet, it is driving me mad, they have extended to Dec 2nd.
The office is in dreadful shape, in a HR sort of way, staff resigning and others refusing to work at our office. ‘They” are claiming that ‘management’ is the problem, another staff member is on stress leave and another two are on holidays. The other day the whole office had to listen to ‘management’ screaming at an employee about confidentiality and ‘what is said in this office stays in this office’, Sigh, makes for a stressful environment I can tell you. Don’t worry, I have been yelled at for going to the toilet, I put it down to stress, hers not mine, I got over it, guess she didn’t expect me to respond. So staff relations ain’t at its best, that’s for sure.
Mopped the floor today, think I need a rest, we have so much floor.
On Saturday we were visited by child A and S and had a fun day, lots of time outside on the trampoline, cooking and I even got a quick lesson on Runescape (I still think it’s stupid), Scoop and SIL…K were out looking at houses again, I like listening to the descriptions when they get back. Don’t know what we will do when they live so far away, see them less I guess.
The latest news from afar is that cousin C will be celebrating his 21st, how great, Congrates to C in his new found ….. well….. age I guess, he will always be that highly excitable, sensitive caring little boy that my memory allows him to be. Good luck in whichever direction his life takes him.
Speaking of adulthood, child one is 18 shortly, yay, one has almost made it, 14 months later child two will do the same, yay again. They can then make decisions that they can live and learn by, just like everyone else. It would be nice to be that age all over again.
